The Division of Science and Research is serving as the state’s clearinghouse for the higher education research provisions in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), also known as the federal stimulus program. Unlike formula funding being provided to some agencies, research funding will require competitive proposal development for awards. The exact value of stimulus research programs is unknown until solicitations are issued, proposals are submitted, and awards are announced by federal agencies. In some cases, such as research facilities and major equipment, the state will provide comment and potential ranking to proposals that have statewide implications. The Division of Science and Research is available to support researchers who need assistance developing and writing proposals seeking ARRA funding.
